Pet Tote Bag Commissions - Important Information
Please read the information below for a detailed step by step process and Q & A on our pet portrait tote bag commissions:
If you're planing on having a pet portrait tote bag commissioned through us, well first off... thank you! But here is a page full of all the information you should read about what we offer and should answer any questions you may have but do feel free to email me at Printsbyjess7@gmail.com if you have any questions!
So lets begin!
First off, all this information will be sent to you by email once you make a purchase just so you can re-read if needed!
All illustrations are a physical product not a digital illustration. Each piece can have the pets name added if you would like, just make sure to add the name in the 'add a note to your order' before you purchase!
All commissions are drawn from the shoulder/neck upwards with their eyes shut.
If you wish to see more examples of my style of work then definitely go and check out my blog 'Digital Pet Portrait Commissions' this then allows you to see past pieces that I have created for people and if my style of illustration is for you!
Please read below thoroughly before placing your order:
If you already have a pet portrait that was illustrated by me then skip the 'Reference Photos' section as I can use the original illustration than making you a new one. This means the process time will be shorter as its only the time it takes to be uploaded and made into a tote bag and sent to your door - Do email with any questions!
Reference Photos - For Pet Illustration
Please send all reference photos to me via email: printsbyjess7@gmail.com
To create your portrait I work with reference photos that you provide of your beloved pet(s). Clear photos are the best to allow me to capture the likeness and character of your pet and photos provide must be non pixelated, not blurry and preferably in the position that you would like. I only do face portraits - from the shoulders/neck up - but do let me know if you would like me to include a collar to the end piece.
What I would need to create a masterpiece:
- Hight Resolute Photos - or as clear as possible!
And send as many as you like!
- A clear breakdown of what you would like - either a complete replica of a photo or if you have small adjustments in mind etc.
- The pets name - especially if you would like me to add it to the illustration!
All of this can be sent to me via email!
About Our Tote Bags & The Company We Work With
All of our tote bags are made from sustainably sourced organic cotton with a UK company called Teemill!
Our Organic Cotton Tote Bag are:
~ Twill Weave (170gsm). 37 x 42 cm (7cm gusset.)
~ Made in India / Designed on the Isle of Wight.
~ Wash Cool, Hang Dry.
Our products are printed to order so there's no waste. And Teemill use renewable energy from the sun and wind to power production. Teemill use natural materials, not plastic. And every product has been designed to be sent back when it's worn out for recycling, just scan the QR code on the label of the tote once its reach the end off it life to receive a free postage label1
Organic cotton is better for the producers and the ecosystem in which it is produced. Instead of more toxic pesticides, fertilisers or plastic, organic farming encourages biodiversity and leads to the extra soft feel of our products. This leads to higher earnings for farmers with better soil quality and water security, with food crops grown on the same soil in the dry season. Less inputs also means less water, but even organic cotton is still a thirsty crop. So where you grow it matters. The fields that grow the organic cotton for Teemill products are in the North of India, where the monsoons fill reservoirs that supply almost all the water needed.
Teemill develops technology at its factory to improve all aspects of fabric printing. This includes working on lower impact inks, software, machinery and automation technologies.
It enables Teemill to make products in real time. At the factory, products are only made after they have been ordered - there is no waste. From this integrated and digitised supply chain, efficiencies are created and the cost savings can be reinvested in the facilities, working conditions and team.
Consequently the Teemill factories on the Isle of Wight, in India and in Europe, the environment is clean, light, modern and positive as would be expected from any 21st century manufacturer. Production centres are audited for a wide range of social and sustainability criteria and powered by renewable energy.
- High-tech, low waste
- Certified organic cotton
- Open access technology
- SA8000 Certified (Social Accountability Audit)
Each order is sent in 100% eco friendly packaging!

*IMPORTANT - When placing a commission order please do order way in advance if intended as a gift or is needed before a particular date, as each piece is hand drawn and custom to each person I cannot rush a commission, then I have to send off the illustration to be made into a tote bag.

All commissions will be slotted in for one week for completion, to which you will be kept up to date with the process via email. Once completed I will then send you another email with a PDF copy of the illustration for you to confirm before the next stage of printing and sending off.
*All PDF copies will have our Copyright (©Prints By Jess, 2019) name lightly printed across the illustration just for our protection - the final piece will not look like the PDF copy.
Please do feel free to email me with any questions!
Especially if you need a commission for a specific date to which I maybe able to tailer a slot for you.
